David’s automotive performance driving experience dates from 1996. His performance driving instructing began within the BMW CCA in 1998, and continues to the present day. During those years, he has numerous instructing and classroom sessions within the BMW organization as well as working as driver for new car launches for major manufacturers, including; BMW, Chrysler, Ferrari, Hyundai, Jaguar, Lamborghini, and Maserati. In the summer of 2008 and 2009, David’s PPD driving events company produced a 1-day driving event, The Ultimate Lamborghini Experience, for Al &Ed’s Sound of Southern California in association with Lamborghini of Beverly Hills and Lamborghini NA.
David brings a background of being both speaker and talent in the photographic world to his work in the automotive community. His speaking before large groups has helped make him proficient at handling public speaking environs. A situation magnified by his current position as a Chief Driving Instructor for the BMW CCA, Los Angeles Chapter, where he must handle drivers and instructor briefings as well as teach beginner and advanced classroom. In addition, beginning January 2009, David has developed a high performance driving company that will produce professionally run driving events for private clients at tracks around the USA. This subsidiary, Precision Performance Driving (PPD), will be working with all car types and driver experience levels in the interest of furthering their performance driving skills with the aid of right seat instruction and classroom.
For various automotive marketing organizations, since 2002, David has worked on various ‘ride & drive’ events, including the launch of the Chrysler Crossfire in Chicago as a driver with the Skip Barber organization and with Jim Russell Racing for Jaguar at California Speedway. Working since with BMW, he was included in the launch of the 2007 BMW X5 (in 2006) as a pro driver in the “power and performance” portion of that program. His duties with BMW were again to work as a pro driver in the Grand Prix portion of a 6-city tour the summer of 2007, in the 6 and 7-series vehicles. This required not only the ability to extract huge performance from the vehicles themselves on both street, and or racetrack, but to also be right seat instructor and mentor to numerous amateur drivers throughout the program’s run. In the spring of 2008, he worked on the launch of the new BMW 1-series coupe, the V-8 powered M3, and diesel-powered 335d.
